Burton Walter Seiwell, 90, of Nuremberg, passed away unexpectedly late Saturday evening, October 6th, at his residence.

Born in Nuremberg, January 4, 1928, he was the son of the late Walter and Fannie (Singley) Seiwell and has spent the past 29 years in Nuremberg after moving from Silver Springs, MD.

Burton was a retired System Analyst and Procurement Specialist for the department of defense and naval command and had worked for the US Military for over 30 years.

Burton earned a Masters Degree in Government Administration from George Washington University, Washington, DC and was a US Army Veteran during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Bethany U.M. Church, Nuremberg; and enjoyed gardening in his younger years, reading, crossword and Sudoku puzzles, and working with and programming computers.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a son Carl Seiwell who passed in 1988, a brother Raymond Seiwell and sisters Hattie Seiwell and Catherine D’Amato.

Surviving are his loving wife the former Carol Schroeder, to whom he would have been married 60 years on October 11, 2018; one son Neil Seiwell, Nuremberg; two nieces and two nephews.

His funeral will be held Saturday with a memorial service at 2pm in Bethany U. M. Church, Nuremberg. Burial will follow in Nuremberg Cemetery, Nuremberg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Southern Poverty Law Center @splcenter.org or the charity of the donor’s choice.
