Ascenith (seen spelled many different ways, listed as Asenath on most family records, but as Ascenith on grave marker) Myers Rothrock was the sixth of ten known children of George Rothrock (1747-1826) and Elizabeth Myers Rothrock (1751-1827), who married c1770 in Pennsylvania.

Ascenith married Daniel Baum (1780-1857)on 20 Feb 1801 at Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. In 1805 the family moved to Ross County, Ohio and in 1825 to Carroll County, Indiana. Daniel was a farmer. Ascenith and Daniel were the parents of twelve known children, namely:

1. Mary Baum Bacon (1801-1879)
2. George Imtorf Baum (1802-1889)
3. David Baum (1804-1884)
4. Henry Baum (1806-1855)
5. Susanna Baum Ballard (1809-1898)
6. Elizabeth Baum Vandeventer (1811-1879)
7. Jonas Baum (1813-1851)
8. Daniel Baum (1815-1891)
9. Margaret Baum (1817-1834)
10. Jesse Baum (1819-1834)
11. Simon Peter Baum (1822-1834)
12. Anna Baum Vail (1824-1845)
