She worked for Oteco Inc, Goldfield Enterprises and was retired from Southwestern Bell in Houston in 1985. She moved to Caldwell and devoted the latter part of her life to her grandchildren and their friends. In Caldwell she was known as "Miss Vi" and for her daily walks around town.
She was preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings and her husband. She is survived by her children Sandra (David) King of Harlingen, and Glenn (Gail) Rhodes of Caldwell, grandchildren Andi (Cash) Shurley of San Francisco, Jessica (John) Muennink of Houston and Jennifer Hoffman of College Station, great grandsons Parker Hoffman, Knox and Gibson Shurley, Evan and Shane Muennick and many nieces and nephews.
Violet was an exceptional woman with great strength of character. She was loved and will be missed.
