He was a member of Christ Church United Methodist, Charleston, and a resident of Charleston for the last eight years.
Robert came to West Virginia from San Francisco 26 years ago, and graduated from the Greenbrier Culinary Apprenticeship. He was a member of the Charleston Tennis Club; owner and chef of Bridge Road Bistro; and co-founder of community outreach food ministry, Breaking Bread.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Albert Wong; and brother, Richard Wong.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri Talbott Wong; sons, Joseph and Jeffrey Wong, both of Charleston; mother, Hazel Jackman; and sister, Lisa Shelton, both of San Francisco, Calif.
Funeral will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at Christ Church United Methodist, Charleston, with Dr. Randall Flanagan and the Rev. Shauna Hyde officiating. A private family burial will take place at Mountain View Cemetery.
Friends may call three hours prior to the service at the church.
