Eva Sharp Akin, 93, daughter of the late Hector Sharp & Mary Alice Hinton Sharp, born on June 11, 1897 in Taylor Co., KY died Friday January 4, 1991 in the McDowell Skilled Nursing Facility in Greensburg. She was a member of the Beach Grove Baptist Church. She was married to Willie B. Akin on November 15, 1913 who preceded her in death on January 18, 1961. They had 1 son, Broadus Lee Akin, Summersville, 2 daughters, Sadie Akin, who preceded her in death on April 29, 1923 and Sarah Akin, who also preceded her in death on May 12, 1923. She is also survived by 1 sister, Lottie Gardner, Campbellsville, 3 grandchildren, Alice Jean Cowherd, Ohio, Jerry Akin, Texas, and David Allen Akin, Texas; 8 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday January 6, 1991 at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, with burial in the Beach Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Gilbert Larimore and the Rev. William Egbert officiated. Active pallbearers were Robert Larimore, Thomas Larimore, Frank H. Wilcoxson, Eddie Gorin, Alvin Pierce and Marshall Smith.
