Edward Earl "Eddie" Acree
Edward Earl "Eddie" Acree, 65, of Palmyra, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, in a local hospital.
Born June 20, 1939, in Newport News, Va., he was the son of the late Charles Hilton Acree and Catherine S. Trainum Acree. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Ray Acree.
Mr. Acree was a retired painter.
Surviving him are his wife of 45 years, Charlotte I. Acree, of Palmyra; three sons, Edward Scott Acree and his wife, Mary Ann, of Palmyra, Michael T. Acree and his wife, Kim, of Biloxi, Miss., and Kenneth E. Acree and his wife, Diane, of Charlottesville; two brothers, Charles Acree of Palmyra and Dennis Acree and his wife, Barbara Jean, of Palmyra; four grandchildren, Christopher H. Acree, Amber M. Acree, Mary Elizabeth Acree, and Tyler R. Acree; one great-grandson, Anthony Thomas Acree; and two nephews, Matt and Andy Acree.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. William Hammond, his staff, and the Martha Jefferson Hospital staff for their care and to Frankie Sipe for his kindness and devotion to their father.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Hill & Wood Funeral Home, with Mr. Frank Zimmerman and Mr. Bobby Sylvia officiating.
Interment will follow in the Monticello Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2004, from 6 to 7 p.m.
