Allen L. Lonis, 56, of Simmons Road, died on May 26, 2012, at Upstate Medical University Hospital, Syracuse. Mr. Lonis was born on May 4, 1956, in Ilion, a son of Marjory Turner and the late Ralph E. Lonis. He graduated from Poland Central School and received an associate degree from Herkimer County Community College. Allen was united in marriage to the former Cherie Coe from 1981 to 1998. He was employed at Par Technologies, New Hartford, and previously at Riverside Lanes, Marcy. Mr. Lonis enjoyed his time spent at "The Hill". Survivors include four children, Allen Lonis and his wife, Amanda, of Hinckley, Mackenzie Roberts, of New York Mills, and Mannix and Gianni Roberts, both of Colorado Springs; two brothers, Ralph Lonis, of Florida, and Larry Lonis, of Oriskany; a sister, Lisa Lawson and her husband, Mike, of Poland; a brother-in-law, Dennis Dygert; seven grandchildren, Gianni, Alexandria, Wyatt and Chris Roberts, Giovanni Foster, and Logan and Calendar Lonis; special friends, Kevin Geddes, Jim Lelio, and Kareen Williamson and her daughters, Katy and Lucy; and a companion, Cindy Legras, and her daughters, Amber and Amanda. Allen was predeceased by his father, Ralph E. Lonis; and a sister, Susan Dygert. Funeral services will be held at the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport, on Tuesday at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Matthew Ripp, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Newport, officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
