Emma Ubert
HAYS - Emma Ubert, 81, died Jan. 21, 1994, at her home at Hays. She was born March 16, 1902, at Victoria, the daughter of John F. and Anna Marie VonFeldt Brungardt. A Hays resident, she was retired from the housekeeping department at Fort Hays State University in 1976, after working 21 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Altar Society Christian Mothers, the Daughters of Isabella and the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary.
On Sept. 2, 1936, she married Alphonse J. "Al" Ubert at Victoria. He died Feb. 20, 1987.
Survivors include: two sons, Darrell, Wichita, and Jerel "Jerry," Hays; a daughter, Carol Koerner, Hays; two sisters, Sister Lioba
Marie Brungardt, Concordia, and Mary Bell, of St. John's of Hays Nursing Home; and nine grandsons.
A St. Anthony Auxiliary rosary will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday, followed by an Altar Society Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m., a Daughters of Isabella rosary at 7:30 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 8 p.m. Monday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel, Hays. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Hays, with Father Gregory Beyer preaiding. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today, 2 to 5 p.m. Monday, 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. to service time Tuesday, all at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Memorials may be sent to Thomas Moore Prep-Marian High School in care of the funeral chapel.
