Ellen first married James William Daughtrey November 21, 1880, Melville (later to be called Dadeville), Dade County, MO. They had a daughter Fannie Lillian Daughtery Myers born June 1, 1882, and died June 13, 1969, buried at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Polk County, MO.

From her Missouri Death Certificate-
Lou Ellen is a daughter of William Brown and Demarius Mills Brown. Mrs. Lou Hagerman, Rt 2, Aldrich, MO is the informant. Lou Ellen, 90 years old at the time of her death, died from acute heart failure.

Lou Ellen and her sister Nancy Jane married Cheek brothers, William R and Carel (Carroll).

The 1880 Dade County, Missouri Census shows Demeris Brown, 57, born in Tennessee living with the following children: Sarah E, 33; Nancy J, 32; Martha M, 28; Richard T, 22; and Ellen, 17.
