Perham residents left Christmas day to attend Services for their brother

Perham: Mrs. Helen Seraphine Oswald-Wasche and Miss Gertrude Emma Oswald left Friday, December 25, for Seattle, Washington, after receiving word that their brother Dr. Eldred Clarence Oswald (Dentist) had passed away. Dr. Oswald was a native of Perham and the son of John Albert and Josephine W.Miller-Oswald, one of the oldest pioneer families in Perham. He was in dental practice in Seattle and had been in poor health lately. He was 60 years old at the time of his death.

Dr. Oswald served in the Army from August 15, 1917, to July 4, 1919. He was assigned to the Dental Corp, 126th Field Artillary, 34th Division. He and his wife Teresia Catherine Yonetz had two children, a daughter Joan and a son John.
His siblings: Albert John (1883 – 1891), Gertrude Emma (1885 – 1987), Helen Seraphine Oswald-Wasche(1889 – 1979), Eloise M (1898 – 1985) Ruth Mary Oswald (1903 – 1950)

He was the grandson of Carolus and Barbara Roidle-Oswald. (Her maiden name has many spellings.) They relocated their family from Johnstown, PA, to Minnesota prior to 1880.
