Don lived his entire life in Lafayette, graduating in 1954 from Lafayette Jefferson High School. He was an honorably discharged Army veteran, serving from 1959 to 1961.
Along with his father and brothers, he operated and was an automobile mechanic with the former Ade Service Station on Schulyer Avenue, retiring in 2001. Don was raised in the Lutheran Church and he enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and NASCAR racing, especially Tony Stewart.
Don is survived by one sister, Joyce Schurr and her husband Stephen of Lafayette, two brothers, Wayne Ade of Lafayette and Larry Ade of Port Orange, FL, three nieces: Tammy, Carla, and Tracy and one nephew, Tony and 10 great nieces and nephews.
