Raymond A. Luber, age 92, of Edwardsville, died at 9:07 p.m.Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL. He was born July 21, 1917 in Pierron, Illinois, son of the late George & Alvina (Frey) Luber. He married Dorine M. Lienemann May 3, 1942 in St. Louis, MO. She preceded him in death. He is survived by 2 daughters: Patricia Gower and husband Michael of Edwardsville, and Lucille Mueller and husband John of Odin, IL; 4 grandchildren: Brandon and Alaina Whittaker, Stephen Gower, and Cathy Knebel; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers: Herbert Luber, Jerry Luber, George Luber, Jr., and Kenneth Luber; and a sister, Mildred Cox. Mr. Luber was a member of the Teamsters and worked in the Edwardsville area for many years. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2009 at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville with Rev. Jeff Goeckner officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials may be given to St. Boniface Catholic Church, masses, or the charity of the donor's choice.
