Archie William Davis, 59, farmer of Udell, passed away in the St. Joseph Hospital early Saturday morning, Jan. 25, 1964. He had sustained a heart attack in 1962, and had suffered another one Friday.
Born near Plano, Iowa, Aug. 20, 1904, he was the son of John W. and Ratha Ann Adams Davis. On Dec. 23, 1933, he was united in marriage with Irene Orpha Day in Albia, Iowa. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant son, and one brother, Howard. Survivors include his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Burdetta Wiedeman of Centerville, two grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Owen of Centerville, Mrs. Edna Zintz of Plano, and Mrs. Maxine Green of Denver, Colo., three brothers, Gilbert of Milwaukee, Wis., Ray of Promise City, and Joe of Promise City, and several nieces and nephews. His son-in-law, Burdetta Wiedeman (Burdetta's husband, John H. Wiedeman), was killed in a quarry cave-in here last year.
The body was taken to the Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home. Funeral services were held there today, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Clyde O. Johnson of Novinger, Mo., officiating. Burial was in the Jones Cemetery northwest of Plano.
