Henry Howser was born in Corodus Township, York County, Pennsylvania. He was the Son of Johannes Howser and Mary E. George. He was a stone mason and built several homes in Lincoln County, North Carolina. He married Christina Jane Heavner December 15,1779. Eight years after the Revolutionary War Battle Of Kings Mountain, Henry bought the land where it was fought. In 1803 he started construction on a two story stone house that is now known as Henry Howser House. You can see it in the Kings Mountain National Military Park, York County, South Carolina. I am not sure of the county line, but it was York County when the Howser family owned the property. Henry and several other family members are buried on the grounds. Henry's stone reads. Sacred to the memory of Henry Howser sen who departed this life March 4th 1822 aged 66 years.
