Funeral services for Geneva Roberts Anders will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Chatham United Methodist Church in Chatham, LA. Officiating will be Sister Lala Ball Cooper.
Interment will follow in the Chatham Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Chatham United Methodist from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM.
Mrs. Anders was born on July 17, 1923 and passed away on February 26, 2012. She was 88. Mrs. Anders taught music right out of high school. She worked at Peoples Bank in Chatham and Browder Lumber Company as a bookkeeper for many years. She also worked at Lincoln Bank in Ruston in the notes department as a bookkeeper.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chatham where she was also church musician for many, many years and was also church treasurer. Her heart and home were always open to anyone that she thought needed her care and she spent an unbelievable amont of time helping others.
Survivors include, her son, Dwayne Anders of Minden, LA, her aunt, Reavie McCallman of Homer, LA, four grandchildren, Rickey Lynn Anders of West Monroe, LA, Stephanie Anders Webb of Rockledge, FL, Kevin Anders of Arcadia, LA and Renee Anders of Calhoun, LA, great-grandchildren, Matthew Anders and Mason and Logan Webb. She was also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
Mrs. Anders was preceded in death by her parents, G. W. and Roberta Roberts, her husband, Stanley Joyce Anders, her son, Rickey Wendall Anders, one brother, Duvall "Buster" Roberts and her sister, Orleene Roberts Allen.
Pallbearers will include, Jason Roberts, Gaylord Roberts, David Roberts, Ronnie Hightower, Rickey Lynn Anders, Bobby Barnett, Wayne Allen and Layne Allen.
