Ruby Ann Ammons, 66, of Core, WV died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at her residence.

She was born on September 27, 1944 in Daybrook, a daughter of the late John M. Moore and Flossie Bane Moore.

Mrs. Ammons was a member of the Olive United Methodist Church. She loved bingo and was a huge Pittsburgh Steeler fan. She was very active with her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play baseball, basketball, and cheerleading.

On December 2, 1967 she married her husband, Noah C. (Buddy) Ammons. They just celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Dezra Ammons Riggs and her husband Carey of Core; a son Kevin Ammons and his wife Carrie of Fairview; seven grandchildren, Kinley and Karley Riggs, Austin Ammons, Addison Ammons, Farrah Ammons, Bo Ammons, and Faith Stewart; two brothers, Charles Moore of Core, Billy Moore and his wife Melanie of Core, four sisters, Lula Mae Cutlip of Fairview, Jean Milliron and her husband Marvin of Core, Linda Barr and her husband Bill of Daybrook and Sue Delaney of Moorefield; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted Reese, John Junior Moore,and Donald E. Moore.

Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with the Rev. David Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
