Funeral services will be held from. Trinity Lutheran church, rural Kenmare, Thursday at 2 p.m., for Leslie J. Brooks, 62, lifelong resident of the community, who passed away at the Deaconess Hospital Monday. Mr. Brooks had been in failing health for several months.

The Rev. John J. Planz, pastor, will officiate. Mrs. Victor Madsen will be organist and Mrs. Clarence Nelson, vocalist.

Honorary bearers will be Christ M. Christensen, Tedi Gilbertson, Walter Cart, Lawrence Bird, Elmer Cart, Victor Johnson, Nels Jorgensen and Ernest Madsen.

Active bearers will be Harold Christensen, Argyll Wade, Richard Nelson, Ezra Larsen, Victor Madsen and Alvin Johnson.

Interment will be made in Rose Hill cemetery in Kenmare township, with the Ringen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brooks was born Feb. 5, 1902, rural Kenmare, and was engaged in farming north of Kenmare until his retirement a few years ago. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wyman Brooks.

He was married to the former Kathleen Kirsch, at Kenmare, Dec. 30, 1929, who survives, together with two sons and two daughters. The children are Duane Brooks of Spokane, and Jerry Brooks of Seattle, Mrs. Marlyn (LaDonna) Froseth, Kenmare and Mrs. Gerald (Jean) Norsby, of Newburg. There are seven grandchildren.

He is also survived by three brothers, Henry, of Minot; Walter, of Tacoma, Wash., and Irving of Cheney, Wash., and two sisters, Mrs. Fern Nelson of Penticton, B.C., and Mrs. Howard Frederick of Tacoma.

Mr. Brooks had taken an active part in township, school and community affairs.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother and a sister.
