Clark was third of four children born to William C. and Marion Maude (Keene) Skinner.
He was born at his grandmother Phoebe Rebecca (Loomis) Pierce's home in Cheshire, Allegan, Michigan, USA after his family's first move to the U.P. in 1904 resulted in their return to Allegan County in 1906. The Skinner family returned to the Upper Peninsula in 1908 and remained there -- except for a short stint back in Allegan when his father became ill and was seeking medical attention there in 1916/1917.
Clark's father Willie died relatively young (age 47) when Clark was 10 years old; Clark's older brother Harry died young in 1928 at age 28, when Clark was just 21.
Clark remained with his mother Marion until his marriage to Janice Gertrude (Warner) Hatfield, daughter of Marion James Warner (1881-1951) and Hulda Dorcus (Lehman) Warner (1888-1956).
Clark and Janice married on 06 Oct 1951 in Pickford, Chippewa, Michigan, about six months after Janice's father died. Janice had two children from her 1st marriage to Robert Lee Hatfield (1917-1987), but she and Clark had no children. After Clark's death, Janice married Alois John Ryktarsyk (1912-1989), about 1979. Janice passed away in 1992, and is buried at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Goetzville, Chippewa, Michigan, USA, with her 3rd husband Alois.
Clark is buried at Fairview Cemetery, Pickford, Chippewa, Michigan, USA.
