Linzy "Floyd" Guinn, 75, a resident of the Buxton community died Tuesday Morning, April 5, 2011 at the Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Buxton Cemetery in Buxton, OR.

Floyd was born on August 27, 1935 in Hanna, OK. He was one of eight children born to Jake and Helen (Alexander) Guinn. He was raised in Oklahoma until he moved with his family to Phoenix, AZ in 1948.

His wife, Betty Smith, and he married on January 31, 1955 in Phoenix, AZ. Following their marriage they moved to Buxton, OR where they have made their home. Floyd was a mechanic by trade; He had worked for Banks Frozen Foods and then Hudson House in Forest Grove. He retired from NW Packing in Vancouver WA in 1993.

He loved the outdoors, camping and fishing. He was close to his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed dancing, listening to country music and playing his harmonica. He was also a gardener and was always working with his hands fixing things around his home.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty of the family home, two daughters and their spouses; Linda and Lawrence Lardy of Buxton, OR, Pam and Barry Vandehey of Banks, OR, four grandchildren; Christopher, Christina, Cody and Erin and seven great grandchildren.
