Born in Herkimer March 7 1901, a daughter of Charles and Mary Walby Baum, she was married twice. Her first husband, Harold Walker, whom she married in 1918, was killed in an auto accident in 1928. She then marrried Charles Bassett, who died in 1950.
She worked as a saleslady in various dress shops and was also employed by H. M. Quackenbush, Inc.
She is survived by one son, one daughter, two brothers, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
