Before his fathers' funeral arrangements were completed, George W. Bess died of pneumonia, at age 36-6-3. George took sick a few days after his father. They lived a mile apart. George left a wife, Mary K. (Clark) Bess and six small children. The two bodies were laid in the same grave in the Bush graveyard.
