Cora Hearne is the daughter of George R and Carrie L (McFarland) Hearne. Although she spent most of her life in Carthage, Illinois, her family lived in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, for a time when she was a young child. She was a highly respected teacher and taught for many years in the Carthage schools. At least two generations of students benefited from her expertise.
