David City and Brainard also felt the force of the storm. In the former town corn cribs were blown down and Spelt's flax house was lifted onto the railway track. Numerous windows were demolished. In Brainard some houses were dilapidated and some buildings were moved and unroofed. Four miles northwest of this point Peter Adrian's house was blown down, his two children, a boy and a girl, killed and the parents so injured that death is imminent.
