Chelsa Holder, 66, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Oak Ridge Church of Christ, 4895 E. Interstate 20 Service Road North, Willow Park. Interment: Bishop Cemetery, Lipan. Visitation: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 105 Denver Trail, Azle.
Chelsa Holder was born Jan. 27, 1946, in Stephenville, daughter of the G.C. and Bernell Holder. She graduated from Azle High School in 1964, attended Weatherford College and enrolled in Abilene Christian University as a junior. She graduated with her B.S. in 1969. She received her master's degree from Tarleton State University in 1983. She was a high school cheerleader and athlete and was twice named to the All-Region basketball team. She taught elementary school for 20-plus years where she was Teacher of the Year. Following in her dad's footsteps, she became principal of Azle Elementary, the "Rock School." She loved playing golf and watching sports with her forever friends, Laura Bynum and Bev Hogg. Her "heart lights" were her great-nieces and great-nephews, Chandler, Patton and Parker Polk, Emerson, Sadie and Campbell Stites, and Bridge and Rhett Borecki. She enjoyed photography, fishing and cooking, and especially her dogs, Jazzee and Rockee. Chelsa was a member of Oak Ridge Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors: Brother, Pat Holder of Frisco; sister-in-law, Sandi Holder of Southlake; forever friends, Laura Bynum and Bev Hogg of Weatherford; nieces, Ashlee Stites and husband, Jonathan, of Keller, Brittany Polk and husband, Jeff, of Colleyville and Channing Borecki and husband, Brian, of North Richland Hills; aunt, Maggie Bell Haney of Temple; uncle, Joe Holder of Bonham; numerous cousins; and countless friends and loved ones.
