Obituary for Randall Gilbert
MILLVILLE - Randall Mont Gilbert passed away unexpectedly on May 13, 2012, leaving an empty spot in our hearts.

Randall was born in Rexburg, Idaho, on July 30, 1964, to Byron John and Emma Rae Berrett Gilbert. The family then moved to Mesa, Arizona, three weeks later. He spent his elementary years in Roosevelt, Utah, and then moved with his family to Richland, Washington, where he attended Chief Jo Junior High. His family moved to East Garland, Utah in 1979 and he graduated from Bear River High School in 1982. Randall served an LDS mission in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and served in various church callings. He graduated from Utah State University with a degree in education and received his masters degree in counseling.

He married his sweetheart, Teresa Mathews, on June 2nd, 1989, in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a great dad to his two sons and two daughters, who meant the world to him.

He was a teacher at Box Elder Middle School for 20 years and coached the football and track teams. He loved teaching and touched many young lives over the years and was a force for good both on and off the field. Randall will be remembered for his great sense of humor and unfailing optimism.

Randall was a master joke teller and prankster. He was the life of the party at family gatherings over the years. He helped his kids and his family always find the positive in difficult situations. He coached his favorite girls, Joce and Ally, on softball team for three years. He also coached his sons in various sports. He had many friends and enjoyed working with his colleagues.

Survivors include his wife Teresa, children Grant Randall, Tanner John, Jocelyn Marie and Allyson Ann; mother, Emma Rae, Provo, Utah; brothers Robert (Becky), Roosevelt, Utah; and John (Jan), Richmond, Utah; and sisters Tamra Skinner (Craig), Gillette, Wyoming; Linda Leach (John), Las Vegas, Nevada; Ann (Darrell), Springville, Utah; JaNae Warnock (David), Riverton, Utah; Kate Udall (Brady), Boise, Utah; Cheryl Moffat (Greg) Provo, Utah. He was preceded in death by his father Byron, niece Lexia Gilbert, and nephew Matthew Gilbert.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at the Millville Stake Center, 360 E. 450 North. There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Stake Center, and from 10:30 to 11:30 Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the Millville City Cemetery.
