Mrs. Murphy was born in Youngstown on Oct. 6, 1921, the daughter of the late John and Marie (Cutting) McDonald.
She was a lifelong homemaker and loving wife to her husband, Robert, whom she cherished dearly. Together Bette and Bob shared the love of their only son, Mark.
She was a longtime fan of Elvis Presley and had enjoyed spending time antique shopping in later life.
Bette is survived by her niece, Ashley Brooks of Tarzana, Calif. and her dear friend, Pat Tyson of Rockport, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert; son Mark Murphy; and her brother, Robert McDonald.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, and burial will take place next to her husband and son at the Brookfield Township Cemetery.
