James Kysar earned a Bachelor of Science in Guidance degree in 1959, and a Bachelor of Science in Business in 1961, both at Northwest Missouri State College, and a Master of Science in Education in 1966 from Southern Illinois University.

Mr. Kysar taught typing and other business-related courses at Lindbergh High School in south St. Louis County from 1963-1976. He was well liked by his students because he knew how to insert humor into everyday situations. This kept his classes lively and interesting. He died in 1978 of injuries sustained in a car accident two years earlier.
