Jesse Albertson is my great grandfather.
I do not know for certain who his parents were.
His known brother and sisters were Henry, Martha, Jacob Joab, and Mary.
Jesse was born in Davidson Co., NC and died in Indiana. He was married three times. First to Margaret Howlet, daughter of Obedier and Bolly (Hopkins) Howlet, on 7-19-1836. They were parents
of five known children, Amos, Martha E., Mary Ann,
Richard and William.
Jesse married the second time to Charity Riggan, daughter of Jacob R and Elizabeth (Teague) Riggan
on 10-24-1846 in Davidson Co. NC. They were parents of Jacob, Joel Henry, Nancy, John, James, and Joseph Bartley. His third marriage was to Phebe A. Pierce, daughter of Meredith and Temperance (Sullivan) Pierce. They had no children.
By trade, Jesse was a brick maker, farmer, harness, boot and shoe maker. He was born in
Davidson Co. North Carolina, and has lived in
the South Fork District of Stokes Co. NC, Gregg Twp. of Morgan Co., Indiana, Clay Co., Hendricks Co. Indiana and Union Twp, Hendricks Co. Indiana.
In 1852 Jesse, Charity, and Charity's father, Jacob R. Riggan, along with other Riggan family members began their wagon train journey north. When they neared Cumberland Gap, the wagon train divided, the majority went west, onward toward California. Jesse, Charity, Jacob R. and family came to Indiana. Jesse and Charity settled in Gregg Twp., Morgan Co, In. Jacob R. and family settled on land east side of Gale Rd near Center and Liberty Twp. line of Hendricks Co. Indiana.
I do not know for certain where Jesse and Charity are buried. Some believes they are buried in Abners Creek Cemetery, or perhaps in Morgan Co,
Indiana. I want to leave a memorial for each,
so they are not forgotten.
