Funeral services were held Friday, February 10 in Godfrey for Mrs. Nannie Shepherd Walker, 93, of Morgan County, who died Thursday at Morgan County Hospital following a lengthy illness. The services were held at Antioch Baptist Church in Godfrey with the Reverend W. T. Booth and the Reverend Ghari Osburn officiating and burial at the Madison cemetery. A longtime member of Antioch Church, where she worked her entire adult life as a Sunday School teacher and devoted member, she was a well known and respected member of her community. She was the daughter of the late Robert Whitfield Shepherd and Mary Page Moseley Shepherd of Morgan County. She was the widow of Littleton Harwell Walker. She is survived by her five sons, L.H. Walker and R.S. Walker of Madison, Ellet C. Walker of Augusta, and S.I. Walker and G.W. Walker of Eatonton; a sister, Mrs. R.F. Davis of Atlanta, grandchildren, Mrs. J.C. Wilkins of Panama City, Florida, Mrs. Lamar Patrick, Jane, Judy and Penny Walker of Madison, Bobby Walker, Cordele, Ellet C. Walker of Washington, DC, and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Henry Atkinson, Johnny Fears, A.E. Nunnally, Welcome Malone, E.C. Cross, and W.W. Baldwin. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Underwood, J.B. Blackwell, H.C. Daniel, Walker Newton, Charles Kilpatrick, George Kilpatrick, and P.C. McHugh. Sr.
