Charles Abraham Shaffer, little eight year old son of Mr. and Mrs. I. S.
Shaffer, died at his home on June 16,1921. He was born March 10,1913, aged 8
years, three months and six days.
The neighborhood was greatly shocked to hear of Charlie's death, being sick only
a very short time, and recent with the boys and girls at Sunday school, the
Sunday before, where he was a regular attendant. His bright face will be sadly
missed there by his many friends. He was baptized in the Evangelical Lutheran
faith in infancy and has been brought up in that doctrine.
He leaves a father, mother, three sisters and five brothers to mourn his
departure besides his many friends. He had one brother who died in infancy.
The heartfelt sympathy of the entire neighborhood is extended to the bereaved
family. We know one chair can never be filled, but God in His infinite wisdom
saw fit to take him away, we know His ways are best. O C S
