Mary Casias Jaramillo, "Elvie", our loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, was born on June 23, 1926 in Valencia, NM to María and Eustacio Chávez.
Mary passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ramón Casias Sr., her son, Paul Casias, a brother, Ramón Chávez and a sister, Erlinda Sánchez.
Mary is survived by her five daughters, Lillian Gómez and her husband, Frank, Dolores Valdéz and her husband, Art, Reina Casias, Carol Lucero and Eva Martin and her husband, Emery, three sons, Carlos Casias and his wife, Connie, Ramón Casias Jr. and his wife, Robin and Eric Gallegos and his wife, Alyssa, daughter-in-law, Trudy Dry Water-Trujillo and son, Matthias, Jennie Luján who was always there for her grandmother, her brothers and sisters, Clovis Chávez and his wife, Dixie, Tony Chávez and his wife, Ramona, Betty Spangler, Carmen Simmons, Ruth Cooper, Mary Silva and Tina Gonzáles, sister-in-law, Josie Chávez, 31 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her.
Mary gave much love to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary was always easy going and had many friends. Mary loved going to the Casino and being around her family members and friends. Mary enjoyed her outings and she had two wonderful pets, Husgie and Milo.
Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW on Saturday, May 29, 2010. The viewing will begin at 8:00 a.m. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m., with the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymond Casias III, Pete Lucero, Gene Sánchez, Andrew Sánchez, Joey Luján and Paul Luján. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlos Casias and Geno Chávez.
