John Elmer Hendry, 61, a resident of Sweetwater, died at 12:00 a.m. this morning at the Stella hospital where he had been a patient for one day. Mr. Hendry had been in ill health for some time. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lone Star Church of Christ with Martin Woodard of Cassville and Ted Teel of Granby officiating. Burial will be in the Union cemetery under the direction of the Pogue Funeral home of Wheaton. Mr. Hendry had owned and operated the general store at Sweetwater for the past 11 years and was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Amy Hendry; two sons, Nevelle Hendry of Sweetwater and Jack Hendry of Alexandria, La.; three sisters, Mrs. J. W. Adkins of Goodman, Mrs. Grace McCombs of Ramona, Mo. and Mrs. Elsie Howard of Borger, Tex.: and three grandchildren.
