WORCESTER
MRS. HERMAN WRIGHT
Mrs. Herman Wright, aged 65, of Worcester, died on July 8 at the McDonough Nursing Home, where she had been a patient for several weeks.
She was born November 12, 1891 in Marcellus, the daughter of Albert and Sarah (Earll) Church. She was married September 12, 1916 at Skaneateles to Herman C. Wright of Worcester. He died in 1928.
She was a retired home economics teacher. She came to Worcester in 1915 and taught one year in the home economics department. After her husband's death she returned here in 1928, and occupied the same position in Worcester Central School until her retirement in June 1953. She had been a resident of Worcester for 35 years.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church; president of its Woman's Association; a member of the County Council of Churches; Chaplain of Worcester Grange, and a member of the national Grange.
Surviving are three sons, Mayor Charles F. of Somerville, S. C.; Robert H. and Horace C. of Worcester; six grandchildren, and a brother, Sheppard E. Church of Syracuse.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday in the First Presbyterian Church in Worcester, with the Rev. Paul McLaughlin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Worcester.
