CHARLES HENRY "BUD" BURMA

Charles Henry "Bud" Burma, born March 27, 1927 at Waterloo, passed away Saturday September 22, at a hospital in Rochester where he had been a patient since September 3.

He was the son of Kathryn McGinn and Henry W. Burma. Bud received his education at the Allison Public School and Wartburg College.

He was married April 24, 1949 to Shirley Hummel of Allison. He lived his entire life in Allison. Served in the U.S. Navy, Member of Masonic Lodge; Amvets, a previous commander and Secretary of the American Legion, member of the Allison Volunteer Fire Department, commercial Club, Lutheran Brotherhood; and served on Church Council; member of the Allison Drill Team. Before taken ill, he was employed by Iowa Association Chief of Police and Peace Officers Inc.

Survived by his wife, Shirley, three daughters and one son, Marcay of Greenville, South Carolina, Nancy, Molly and William H. of Allison, his father, Henry W. Burma, one sister, Mrs. David (Marjorie) Barber of Rockford, Illinois. Preceded in death by his mother. There was a prayer service at 1:15 at St. James Lutheran Church, Allison on Tuesday, September 25, and funeral services were held at 1:30 with burial in Allison Cemetery.
