Nancy Jane Roberts was the daughter of Samuel Roberts and Caroline Matilda Whitaker. She married John William Leathers on February 4, 1904 in Macon County, Missouri.
"Mrs. Nancy Jane Leathers, 76, died at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. John Perkins of Huntsville. She was the widow of John Leathers of Huntsville.
Besides Mrs. Perkins, she is survived by four other daughters: Mrs. Hettie Britt; Mrs. Joella Boles of Fayette; Mrs. Nellie Reed of Moberly; and Mrs. Charles Shephard of Huntsville; a son, Charles Leathers of Higbee; 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
The body is in the Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville. Services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Huntsville by the pastor, the Rev. W.H. Moore. Burial will be in Huntsville." Moberly Monitor-Index, November 8, 1948
