Lucille Bernice Adcock, 89, Valley Falls, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the LinnWood Park Home Plus care facility in Valley Falls. She was born on Oct. 20, 1922, at Stella, NE, the daughter of Henry and Rena Cornford Eichelberger. Lucille was a homemaker and a farm wife near Hiawatha. After moving to Valley Falls in 1973, she worked at Valley View Nursing Home. She was a member of the Valley Falls United Methodist Church and a volunteer at the church s Clothes Closet and the Valley Falls Historical Society. She married Edwin Arthur Adcock on Sept. 23, 1942, at Horton. He died on Feb. 27, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Alfrey, on Aug. 30, 2006, a brother, Edgar Eichelberger, and a sister, Maxine Davey. Survivors include two sons, David (Sharron) Adcock, Westfield, PA, and Gerald (Joyce) Adcock, Topeka; a brother, Wilbur Eichelberger, Mt. Dora, FL; a sister, Norma Jean Glendenning, Lake Charles, LA; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their thanks to all the staff at LinnWood Park for their care for Lucille for many years and also to Jefferson County Hospice for their care during her final days. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will be at the Denton Cemetery.
