INDEPENDENCE, KY - Clarence L. Pinney, 85, of Independence, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY. He was an iron worker for Union 292 and a United States Army veteran. Clarence enjoyed camping and was a member of Independence American Legion Post #275. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Pinney and Mable Hatfield; parents-in-law, Wilbur and Mildred Sawdon; and son, Michael Pinney. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Beverly Sawdon Pinney; daughters, Dawn (Gary) Sander of Union, KY, Debra (Thomas) Sketch of Park Hills, KY, Nanciann Pinney of Erlanger, KY; sons, Douglas (Lisa) Pinney of Walton, KY, David (Nancy) Pinney of Liberty, IN, John Pinney of Lutz, FL; sister, Jean Speheger of Plymouth, IN; 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and his dog, Charlie. Visitation will be Friday, May 4, 2012, from 10:30 AM until time of funeral service at 12:30 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence, KY. Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown. Memorials may be made to the Honor Flight Tristate, 8627 Calumet Way, Cincinnati, OH 45249; or to Mizpah Ministries, with funds directed to Hanna's Creek Church, 2584 E.
