Mike was born Feb. 12, 1943, to Clarence Cannon Flowers and Lillian Last Flowers. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Masters of Social Work. While attending the U, he met and later married Joan Duncan on November 21, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Mike and Joan raised five children. Mike played a big part in the lives of his own children and many other children in the community by serving as Scoutmaster, and coaching basketball, softball, and especially soccer. In 2010, he was the recipient of the Kirk Hoecherl Service Award for his years of volunteering for the Utah Youth Soccer Association.
He also touched the lives of many people through his compassionate work as a Social Worker. Over the last few years, he found great joy in teaching at LDS Business College. In 2009, his students voted him Part-Time Teacher of the Year.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan; and his parents.
He leaves behind his sons, Brice (Laura), Kirk (Cambria), and Danny; his daughters, Shannon (Corey Benson) and Chelsey (Brice Given); his sister, Peggy (Brice Wade); and 12 wonderful grandchildren.
A memorial service in his honor will be held Saturday, May 5 at the LDS Highland View chapel, 2980 South 2790 East, at 11:30 am. Friends and family can visit from 10:00 to 11:15 prior to the service.
Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
