Katherine Faus Andrus-wife of Col. Burt Andrus, Jr., passed away at Liberty Heights in Colorado Springs February 4, 2012. Both her mother and father were Doctors of Medicine and were University of Colorado graduates that decided to start their practice in Honolulu Hawaii. Their first born was Kay Faus, born March 23, 1922. Kay naturally gravitated to becoming a doctor and was a full-time student at University of Radcliff, which was the Harvard for women. Kay and Burt met on a blind date and fell in love and were married may 22, 1943. Kay was a wonderful grandmother, teaching and helping her grandchildren how to help other children having special needs. She spent countless hours helping the hurt overcome their handicaps so as to cope with the future. She rewarded each with a special engraved trophy with the handicap child's name engraved. She is survived by her brother and her sister, 2 sons 1 and daughter. Her daughter Marnie died of cancer in 1988. KATHERINE FAUS ANDRUS WAS AN AIR FORCE WIFE EXTRAORDINAIRE. SHE IS WITH OUR LORD.
