Ellen Cohen Arst passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 27, 2012. A native of Birmingham, AL, Ellen had been an active resident of the Baton Rouge community since 1957.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose S. Cohen and Simon A. Cohen of Birmingham and her son Paul Arst, Jr. of Baton Rouge.
She is survived by her husband Paul Arst, Sr., her son and daughter-in-law Sanford A. and Janet R. Arst and grandchildren Margaret R. and Simon C. Arst.
Among the organizations she supported were the LSU Foundation, The Art League, The Mental Health Association, and the LSU Museum of Art.
The family expresses thanks to her caregivers Diane, Ann, Sheila and Pat.
