ENFIELD TEACHER JUDITH CREEDON, 52, DIES

Judith Anne Creedon, a special education teacher at Enrico Fermi High School in Enfield, died Monday at her home in Somers after a long illness. She was 52.
She was among the first teachers hired to teach special education in the Enfield school system. She worked for the system for 31 years, beginning as an elementary school teacher at Eli Whitney School. She also was involved in Special Olympics, Enfield Retarded Citizens and Camp Shriver.
She was raised in Massachusetts and moved to Somers in 1975. She received a bachelor's degree from the College of St. Joseph the Provider in Rutland, Vt., and a master's degree from St. Joseph's College in West Hartford.
She is survived by her husband, Peter Creedon; a daughter, Bridget Creedon; a brother, John Gajewski of Windsor; a sister, Jane Hansen of Florida; and an aunt, Helen Fox of Chicopee, Mass.
Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers. The funeral is Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to All Saints Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Somers Center Cemetery.
