Shera Lynn Arriola, 58, of Waco, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012, at Providence Health Center. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at OakCrest Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Shera was born in Yoakum, Texas; however, her parents divorced when she was quite young and later, her mother married Chris Zellmer. She attended Waco schools and Austin Cosmetology School. Shera had worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Penelope and was a licensed Cosmetologist. She married Ines Arriola on Dec. 21, 1973. Shera loved animals, spending time with her family, cooking, sewing, and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ines Arriola; daughters, Dawn Arriola and Patrick Sweeney, of Arlington, and Veronica Ballew and husband, Jason, of West; granddaughter, Madeline Ballew; brothers, Mike Carey, of Holiday, Fla., and Dale Zellmer and wife, Susan, of Tomball; many other family members, and numerous friends.
