Grace Marion was born April 21, 1912, the first child of Dr. Olav S. Behrents and Ida Johnson Behrents. Olav and Ida were medical missionaries, serving the mission field in what used to be called Kioshan, Honan, China. Grace attended school at the American School in Kikungshan, a boarding school where she lived and learned and where the entire family would retreat in the heat of the summer months. The growing family made several trips back and forth to the United States on furlough, eventually leaving China for the last time in 1927 and settling in Three Rivers, MI. Grace finished high school there and graduated from St. Olaf College in MN.
Grace, a 1st LT in the US Army, served proudly as a nurse in England during World War II.
On October 30, 1957 Grace married Dexter Anderson. They had no children.
Grace died April 11, 1980 in Tucson.
