On April 19, 2012 at 1:45 p.m., God picked a flower that's still in full bloom. Sometimes the flower that is chosen, we feel He's picked too soon.Sister Gwendolyn Jason Foote was born on July 20, 1954 to Melvola Ardion Jason and the late Melvin Jason. She lived most of her life in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Gwen attended Washington High School and was a graduate of the class of 1972. She was a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church for a number of years. She was also a member of the Women's Missionary Union Circle #2 and Sunday School Class #3.

Gwen worked with children all of her adult life. She worked for New Sunlight Daycare, Children's Play World and was employed at CARC until her illness.

Shew as preceded in death by her father, one brother Leonard Jason and one sister Carlene Jason.

She leaves behind a loving legacy to be cherished by her loving mother, Melvola Jason, one son, Jerome Jason, her special daughter-in-law Gabbie Jason, one daughter Jaime Jason; all of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Four sisters, Alzena (Donald) Poole of Sugarland, TX, Wenny Harvey of Missouri City, TX, Cynthia (Johnny) McLemore of Houston, TX. Veronica (Laundry) Jack of Lake Charles, LA; three half sisters, Margaret Perryman of Lake Charles, LA, Brenda Frank of Ville Platte, LA, Carolyn Chase of Baltimore, MA and one half brother, Clarence Jason of Oakland, CA. Also left to treasure her memories are two grandchildren, Jeremy and Janae Jason and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Her Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 27 in Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Freddie Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is from 8 a.m. Friay in the church.
