John L. E. Copenheaver, a former school director of Codorus Township, died last evening at 7:20 o'clock, at his home, near Jefferson. Death followed an illness of a year. He was aged 68 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ellen Sterner Copenheaver; six children, John M. Copenheaver, Walter L. Copenheaver, Ralph E. Copenheaver and Blanche R. Copenheaver, all at home; Paul E. Copenheaver, Hanover R.D., and Ernest E. Copenheaver, York; also 13 brothers and sisters, Charles Copenheaver and Mrs. Clinton Bankert, Brodbecks; George Copenheaver, Hanover; Edward and Penn Copenheaver, York; Jonas Copenheaver and Mrs. Solomon Jamison, Hanover R.D.; Jefferson Copenheaver, Spring Grove R.D.; Colonel Copenheaver, Mrs. Chauncey Gantz and Mrs. Claude Trone, all of Spring Grove; Mrs. George Amspacher, Glen Rock, and Mrs. Alverta Noel, Harrisburg.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Geiple Funeral Home, Glen Rock. The Rev. Kenneth S. Ehrhart, pastor of the Jefferson Lutheran Charge, will officiate. Interment will be in the Jefferson Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock at the funeral home.
