Jennifer was survived by her husband Michael James Abeyta of Ohkay Owingeh; sons: Michael James Abeyta Jr. and Robert Daniel Abeyta, both of Ohkay Owingeh; daughter-in-law Melissa Sue of Ohkay Owingeh; granddaughters: Amelia Michelle Abeyta and Chloe Ann Abeyta of Ohkay Owingeh; sister Sandra Biehl (husband Joe) of Mesa, Arizona; brother Paul Rex McKinnie (wife Nanid) of Foster City, California; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Calvert (husband John) and Gloria Johnson (husband Mars) of Ohkay Owingeh; brothers-in-law: Paul Abeyta (wife Flora), Ramos Abeyta (wife Theresa), Bobby Abeyta, and David Abeyta, all of Ohkay Owingeh; aunt Bernita Brendible of Metlakatla, Alaska; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Jennifer worked at the Carlmont High School and Sequoia Union High School District. Jennifer also worked for Eight Northern Pueblos, San Mateo County Housing Authority and Mills Hospital.
Public visitation and Rosary were held on April 2, 2012 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of the Resurrection was on April 3, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Burial followed at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers: Tosh Abeyta, Ken Biehl, J.R. Abeyta, Paul Biehl, Weston Johnson, Pete Aguino, Paul Abeyta III and Kevin Abeyta.
