WILDORADO - Buck Allred, 73, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Trinity Fellowship Church with Phil Mercado, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Palo Duro Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Amarillo, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. Allred was born to Joe and Ruby Allred in Amarillo on April 10, 1931. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1949. He was drafted into the Marine Corps in 1952.
Buck served on numerous boards through the years including Wildorado Methodist Church, ASC Committee, Wildorado Producers Grain Association, Wildorado School Board, Galveston Burn Hospital, Houston Crippled Children's Hospital and Khiva Divan.
Buck married Juanita Avent in 1959 and they have lived in Wildorado for 47 years. They were members of Trinity Fellowship Church.
He will be dearly missed by his family.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Richardson in 1995.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Randy Allred and wife, Orvilla, of Wildorado; two daughters, Debbie Gilter and husband, John, and Lynn Allred, all of Amarillo; a grandson; seven granddaughters; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Treva Hubbard and Shirley Mills, both of Amarillo.
The family suggests memorials be to Shriners Crippled or Burned Children's Hospitals in care of Khiva Temple, P.O. Box 328, Amarillo, TX 79105; BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176; or Wildorado Independent School District.
