Private, 167th Aerial Squadron. Entered the service at Galesburg, December 10, 1917; in the service 9 months; discharged December 24, 1918.

Ben R Altine, 59, died at his residence, 207 Lincoln St, after a 6-month illness. He was a conductor for the Burlington Railroad where he was employed the last 36 years. Funeral arrangements will be announced will be at Hinchliff and Wilson Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Altine was born November 30, 1892, in Galesburg where he spent his entire life. He was married to Miss Hazel F Robbins in Peoria September 8, 1923. He was a member in Galesburg of Trinity Lutheran Church, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, and American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I, serving overseas.
Galesburg survivors include his wife; a son, John R; a daughter, Mrs. Richard J Anderson; a brother, LR Altine; and four sisters, Mrs. EH Nelson, Mrs. LR Frankeberger, Mrs. MS Nelson and Mrs. Hazel Armfield. Also surviving are a fifth sister, Mrs. FC McDowell of Galva, and a grandchild.

Funeral services for Ben R Altine, 59, of 207 Lincoln St, who died Wednesday morning, were held at 2:30 PM today at Hinchliff and Wilson Funeral Chapel. The Rev. TW Jolly of First Christian Church officiated. Mrs. Dale B Johnson was organist.
Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were RL Sloan, Earl Oberlander, Otis Root, Kelly Alexander and Elon and Ragnar Blucker.
