Thomas J Joyce, Sr, of Carmel, formerly of Pawling, died Nov 18, 2003 at the Bronx VA Hospital. He was an engineer and drill sergeant who served in the US Army for 16 years. He served two tours in Vietnam, where he received the Purple Heart. Born Jan 24, 1948 in Manhattan, he was the son of Thomas E & Jane Reidy Joyce. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Furnari Joyce, Viejo, CA; sons Thomas Jr, Clinton, MA; James, Marlboro, MA; daughters Laurie Joyce, Clinton, MA; Kelly Joyce, Marlboro, MA; brothers Patrick & William of Dover Plains; sisters Ellen Joyce, Dover Plains; Mary Underhill, Millerton; Patricia Buck, Bennington, VT; stepson Richard DeBlasi, Danbury, CT; stepdaughter Sofia Miera, San Marreno, CA. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Timothy Michael Joyce, and a brother, Daniel Joyce.
