90 Aledo, formerly of Sherrad died Saturday, 12 Sept. 1992 Mercer County Home Aledo.
Services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Lutheran Church New Windsor, where she was a member. Burial is in Viola Cemetery.
Visitation this afternoon and evening Jinks Funeral Home Viola, with the family present from 6 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to Mercer County Nursing Home Aledo, or Mercer County Retirement Teachers Association, which she helped found.
The former Myrtle Anderson was born 27 Nov. 1901 in New Windsor, the daughter of Charles O. and Anna O. Lonn Anderson. She married Cecil P. Baxter Jr. 29 June 1921 in Viola. He died 24 Nov. 1980.
Mrs. Baxter was a school teacher Mercer Co. and tired in 1966
She was a member of the Mercer County Retired Teachers Association and served as president for two years; a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association; member and past president of the Sherrard Women's Club where she had been very active and was past treasurer.
Survivors include daughters, Betty Ann Taylor of Woodhull, and Marie E. Wallace, Rushville, and a son John C. Baxter, Flat Rock, ALB. 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren
